Guy Collins

Hails from Cape Town, South Africa.

He is a well known musician in the music scene in his home country and has toured with various bands in Africa, Europe and Asia. In the early 1990s, first band Billygoat was an improvisational blues rock outfit that got cult status on the festival circuit. 


He has since worked with South African bands as diverse as afro folk rock band Hot Water, blues and soul singer Gerald Clark, afro rock 'n roll outfit The Rockskandi Kings, Hill Country Blues outfit Mean Black Mamba and his own solo work. 

Guy has now settled in Norway with his Norwegian wife and two sons. He has been connected to the music scene in both Kongsberg and Notodden and has performed with local musicians such as Trond Ytterbø and Ulf Myrvold and his own band Guy Collins and the Groove Machine at both the Kongsberg Jazz Festival and Notodden Blues Fest. He is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist who plays guitar, bass and banjo among others and is a dynamic and experienced stage performer.
